• Program

  • HKT16 Program

The HKT 2016 will be focused on the following four broad themes with several sub-themes:
    • Structure and Geodynamics
    • Earth Surface Processes and Climate
    • Interactions between surface processes and deep earth processes/tectonics
    • Natural Hazards and Resources in the HKT region

The conference format will have a restricted number of oral presentations, including several keynote and invited speakers who are leaders in their respective fields, and extensive discussions. The majority of the non-solicited contributions will be presented as posters. Ample time will be available for the poster sessions and expositions. We aim to organize a number of round-table discussions during the meeting covering topics such as new inputs on exhumation history and crustal scale models, active tectonics and seismic risk, impacts of climate change, interaction between climate and topography, preliminary findings from the IODP expedition to the Bay of Bengal, from the field to the lab, new technologies, anthropological interactions etc.'
